When you get your headshots from us, you’ll notice two download options: full-resolution or social media-sized JPEGs. But what’s the difference, and when should you use each?
Full-resolution JPEGs are large, detailed images (about 20 megapixels) that are perfect for uses where quality matters most. Whether you’re printing your headshot for a billboard, a company brochure, or even framing it for your office wall, this is the file size you’ll want. Full-resolution images allow you to zoom in without losing detail, making them ideal for professional marketing materials or high-quality portfolios.
Social media-sized JPEGs are optimized for online use, with the longest side resized to 2048 pixels. These smaller files load quickly, which is great for websites, social media profiles, or email signatures. You won’t sacrifice much visible quality on a screen, but the smaller size makes them more convenient for digital platforms where file size can affect loading speeds.
Both formats serve a purpose: full-resolution for print and high-end projects, and social media size for online profiles and posts. Having both options gives you the flexibility to use your headshots in any context!
